What's The Best Pizza Stone To Use With Traegar Grill

Traeger makes some of the most popular barbeque grills out there. Their long cylindric shape is great for heat retention and provides ample cooking space.

You can use their grill to cook anything you want, including delicious pizzas.

Pizza stones are used for cooking pizzas because they even out the heat applied to the bottom of the dough.

This helps the pizza bake evenly. Pizza stones also add heat to the bottom of your pizza crust, which makes it crunchier.

If you put a pizza directly onto the grill, it could get stuck to the grate and be ruined, pizza stone helps prevent this problem by keeping your pizza from sticking to the grate.

This prevents deformities because there is less chance of sagging.

Always look for a stone that absorbs extreme heat, so you're able to place your thin crust frozen pizzas on a rock at 450°F.

Buy a stone that has been proven to work well in any charcoal grill, electric grill, gas grill, gas oven, or pellet grill.

A Traeger pizza stone is the ideal choice because it lets you cook your pizza with less oil than other methods.

A rectangular pizza stone is perfect for cooking pizza because it fits perfectly into the Traeger’s griddle. Other types of pizza stones may be too thin or too thick to fit properly.

However, there are a few non Traegar pizza stones on the market that can work with Traeger grills. Let's consider 3 pizza stones that may work well with your Traeger grill.

A steel plate would hold seasoning oil better. Pizza steels are very strong and durable and they clean up easily with a little bit of soap and warm water.

Best Way To Cook Pizza On Traegar Grill

Your friends or neighbours that spent money on their pizza may find it amusing if you tell them you're grilling your pizza.

But don't worry about that. Grilling these pizzas at high temperatures works a treat.

The Traeger grill gives you a depth of taste similar to a traditional wood-fired pizza oven and there is much more flavor than a 900-degree propane pizza oven.

As we've discovered a pizza stone or cast iron skillets will give you a better crust than a regular pizza pan.

Heat up the Trager for at least 30 minutes at 500 degrees Fahrenheit to make sure the pizza stone is thoroughly preheated.

You should put your pizza on the hot stone halfway through cooking and spin the pizza to see how it is cooking.

Tips

Never stack your stones or pizzas on different shelves in the oven.  This will yield mixed results, usually burnt, soggy or too crispy.

Placement is important and the perfect place to bake pizza is in the middle rack.

To compliment your pizza throw in a zesty side salad, and some savoury snacks. How can you make the pizza dough with the right texture?

Liberally sprinkle the countertop with coarse cornmeal for an added textural component. Let the dough warm up to room temperature before stretching it out.

Parchment paper is useful to use when cooking pizzas as it keeps them from burning.

Cutting around the edge makes it easier to remove the crust from the pan without getting burned.
